Meridix EventReporter Automatic Desktop Score and Result Submission System Released
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
CHICAGO, Illinois - Meridix today announced the official launch of its Meridix EventReporter distributed score collection and submission system for athletic directors, coaches, assistants, staff, and administrators. The company said full functionality was now available for 10 different event types, including Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Soccer, Swimming and Diving, Track and Running, Tennis, Softball, and Volleyball. Additional event types will be released in the coming weeks.
Meridix EventReporter automatically collects scores and results submissions from coaches, staff, and other authorized reporters directly on the computer desktop. Event score submission boxes automatically appear on the desktops of coaches and staff, without ever requiring them to remember to login and report their scores. EventReporter runs in the system tray, and does most of the work behind the scenes. Whenever an event on the schedule occurs, submission alerts will be sent to all trusted reporters (coaches, assistants, administrators - whomever you choose) for the home and away teams. If a particular trusted reporter sees the event alert and has time to submit scores and other results, they would simply fill out the fields within the alert box and click on submit. The event will now be considered "submitted" by that team, and the event alerts will disappear from all of that team's reporters. For all of the reporters of the other team, their alerts will change instantly to confirm boxes, where they see what you typed in and can verify it. As soon as one of their reporters verifies, the alerts will also disapear from all reporters for that team. The process could certainly happen in reverse, where the other team submits first and you confirm. Or, if someone from your own team submits or confirms, it is possible you personally won't have to do anything.
Ultimately, many people can be involved - only two people have to actually do anything - and only one has to actually type anything in.
Involving many potential reporters in the process significantly decreases the time it takes to collect scores, and minimizes the work for any given person. With Meridix EventReporter, results from teams, schools, leagues, or conferences can be collected faster than ever before. Regional and state associations, such as collegiate athletic conferences and state high school associations, can also use the system to collect certified, accurate results from hundreds or thousands of teams simultaneously.
Several years ago, Meridix had briefly launched its current Meridix Broadcast Network under the "EventReporter" title, but that name was quickly changed to better reflect the broadcast/webcast nature of that system. The new Meridix EventReporter software launched today is not related to the previous "EventReporter" and is a new, independent product.
