Roster, Team, and Statistics Tools Added To Meridix Broadcast Network

NAPERVILLE, Illinois - Following the announcement of the company's new player and online identity management tools several days ago, Meridix has unveiled several new products aimed at allowing schools and organizations to easily create teams, manage rosters, and maintain accurate statistics for sports and other activities. One of the most important new features includes the ability of high-level organizations (such as state agencies, conferences, or associations) to create approved "team types" and naming conventions. Using this feature, state agencies and conferences can enforce consistent naming conventions across their entire organization, so that one school's "Boys Football - JV B" is not "Football - Boys Freshman" at another school. The consistency also provides the added benefit of automatic record, conference record, and ranking calculations among similar teams. When creating teams, schools simply select the appropriate sport type, the approved "team type", and with one click will have a fully configured team available for use. From here, coaches or administrators can begin filling in rosters and other information quickly and easily.

Along with the creation of uniform teams and team types, schools and organizations can now also create rosters simply by selecting from a dropdown list of individuals and adding individual players or coaches. Trusted reporters can also be added in the same manner, for use with the Meridix EventReporter official reporting system (see Meridix EventReporter) For each team, other pieces of information can also be added to each player, such as height, weight, age, year, position, and more. The system also accomodates statistics information, so that players can have statistics input on a game-by-game basis, with automatic calculation of season or career statistics.
